vISITORS TO OUR sCHOOL
On the 6th of March three Laois hurlers come to visit our school. Paddy Purcell, Ross King and Mark Kavanagh all from the Rathdowney Errill Club came to speak to us about playing with the Laois team and to inspire us to keep practising and working hard to achieve our goals. We wore our Laois jerseys and were so lucky to get their signatures.
On the 14th of February, we were privileged to welcome the Army Band 2 Brigade to our school under the baton of Capt. Thomas Kelly. They preformed some of our favourite popular songs for us. They also taught us about all the different instruments in the band and what each one looked and sounded like. Some of us even got a chance to conduct the band. It was a day we will always remember.
Exploring Biodiversity
On Friday the 24th of January Oonagh from Heritage Ireland came to our school to teach us all about Biodiversity. We got a chance to go outside and explore all the different living creatures in our school environment. We worked in groups to see what we could find. To do this activity we used trays and magnifying glasses. We found so many interesting creatures. It was very exciting and we learned so much. Thank you Oonagh for coming to our school and sharing all your knowledge with us.

malin head to mizen head
We have learned a lot of interesting facts about Ireland and made fantastic fact-files. To keep ourselves active, we have decided to run from Malin Head in Co. Donegal to Mizen Head in Co. Cork. The distance is 609km. One lap of the school yard = 1 km for our little legs! We will keep you up to date on our progress. We started on Monday 9th October and completed 7laps/7km on our first day. We are tracking our progress on google maps.

On Wednesday 14th February we reached our destination. 609KM wow!!!!!!! We are so proud of ourselves. What a fun and active journey it has been.
