​September and october 2024​

We have had many super Gaelic football training sessions this term and all are showing great enjoyment.

For the month of September 6th class have been learning all about New Zealand and conducted their own SESE research projects exploring and gathering information relating to history, traditions and culture, geological features and native flora and fauna as well as mapwork.

Koru Art - Koru is a native fern in New Zealand and is an integral symbol of Maori Art. 6th class were encouraged to sketch and design their own spiraling designs.

Having learned about native Irish trees and how to identify them by their leaves - 6th class went on an Autumn nature walk and were encouraged to identify different types of trees around the school by examining their leaves. 6th class chose leaves to make leaf rubbings and wrote facts for each.

6th class created Haunted House Silhouettes in art for October. We have been covering persuasive writing and the children were given the task to persuade someone to buy a haunted house.
