On April 18th 2024 Junior and Senior Infants, along with Cora, Grace, Anne Marie, Gemma and Brigid, had a very enjoyable and educational trip to Bruce Thompson's dairy farm at Camcloon, Ballyfin. We got to see cattle in sheds, cows chewing their cuds in fields, 'Polly' being milked, calves being fed, and learned loads about how the nutrients in the clay are converted into food we can eat.
We also visited Richard Duff's yard at Deerpark, and saw the live feed from the nest boxes that he has installed on his farm. The diorama of stuffed native Irish birds and animals was particularly interesting.
Thanks so much to the Thompson and Duff families and workers, and Tirlán for their sponsorship of the goodie bags. We all had a great day!
