Flag Raising Ceremony
On Friday, June 16th, we raised our fourth green flag in Ballyfin N.S.
We invited Mieke Scholte, Travel Officer with An Taisce to do the honours. Mieke had worked with us over the past two years helping us to achieve our flag. She was a great help - visiting the school regularly to complete travel surveys, presenting bicycle maintenance workshops, checking our helmets fitted properly and running a cycling safely workshop in the yard. We had great fun.
Boys and girls from Ms. McLoughlin's First Class provided the entertainment, singing two songs.
Committee members spoke very well and did a great job.
As Mieke is due to retire in August a presentation was made wishing her every health and happiness in the future.
The whole school came out to celebrate the occasion. It was lovely to see parents join us too.
